Rambam rules a kohein is forbidden to wear his bigdei kehunah when not performing avodah because of shatnes. The kohein gadol also had shatnes in his bigdei kehunah, why is he not forbidden to wear his bigdei kehunah when not performing avodah? A difference between the kohein’s service and the kohein gadol’s. Or a difference between the kohein’s bigdei kehunah and the kohein gadol’s bigdei kehunah. Achashveirosh wore the kohein gadol’s bigdei kehunah.
